Founded by artists, for artists.

Presented annually by the Prince Edward County Arts Council, The Maker’s Hand has gained an excellent reputation for showcasing a wide range of fine craft by Canadian artists who are dedicated to creating original designs using quality materials. Established in 2004, the show features both established and up-and-coming artists from across Ontario & Western Quebec.

In 2019, the show moved to a newer, larger venue at the Lehigh Arena in Wellington. Highline Hall has excellent lighting, offers enhanced exhibition space, amenities and parking. Composed of 40 booths, it is an eagerly anticipated event. Our enthusiastic volunteers are on-site to assist artists with set-up and take-down and also for assistance during the course of the show.

We generally welcome 2000 visitors over the three-day event. But more important than attendance numbers is the visitor profile. We conducted an artist survey following our 2022 event (with a 70% response rate), and 100% of respondents agreed that visitors are there to buy, and 88% agreed that visitors show an appreciation of fine craft.

“The Maker's Hand was exceptionally well-organized from start to finish, with seamless coordination from application to tear down. I was thoroughly impressed by the thoughtfully curated group of vendors and the meaningful conversations I was able to have with attendees. The event fostered a great environment for building lasting connections and customer loyalty. The support from volunteers, along with the thoughtful touch of complimentary coffee and snacks throughout the day, were much appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’m already looking forward to next year's show!” - Lucy Sterezylo, Stareatjello, Picton
