Out of my home studio near Guelph I fabricate miniature works of art in paper, silver and enamel. I create all of the patterns and designs myself and use a variety of traditional and non-traditional metalworking techniques to bring the pieces to life. I arrange many of these beloved objects in frames, playing with gesture, to memorialize whimsical memories of my childhood and interactions with the everyday world. My paper and silver sculptures stand alone, hiding precious objects inside from enameled gardens to love notes and letters of gratitude. I attempt to bring something precious and simple into an increasingly complicated world. There is a desire, and need, for visual art that simply makes us smile.
